Carving Pumpkins...
We carved our pumpkins tonight. I love everything about Halloween except the carving of the pumpkin! I usually do a very traditional pumpkin, whatever is quickest and easiest. I felt a little ambitious tonight so I went online and printed out a couple of patterns, ones that I thought didn't look too hard and complex. It was actually pretty fun, the kids enjoyed getting messy. My kids are in bed now and they can hardly wait for tomorrow night to come!

Stringtown Nightmare Express!!
On Wednesday night we went on a free Halloween train ride, "Stringtown Nightmare Express!". (Thanks Katie for telling us about this) While you wait for your ride on the train, they have a Halloween movie that they set up in this huge garage so your not having to wait in the cold. We waited 25 minutes, and off we went on our spooky ride! Brooklyn loved it, she was a little scared and Weston rode the train like he was a beauty queen! He was waving and saying hi to all the ghosts and goblins that would jump out to scare him. It was pretty cute! We are excited to go on the Polar Express train ride in December that this family puts together.

Christmas Jars

Keep some tissues on hand for this holiday story that is sure to be a Christmas classic!
Where had it come from? Whose money was it? Was I to spend it? Save it? Pass it on to the someone more needy? Above all else, why was I chosen? Certainly there were others, countless others more needy than I...Her reporters intuition insisted that a remarkable story was on the verge of the front page.
Rising newspaper reporter Hope Jensen uncovers the secret behind the "Christmas Jars" ? Glass jars filled with coins and bills anonymously given to people in need. But Hope discovers much more than she bargained for when some unexpected news sets off a chain reaction of kindness and brings above a Christmas Eve wish come true.

Brooklyn's question....
Here's a little conversation that I had with Brooklyn tonight when I was putting her in bed...
Brooklyn : Mom, where did Blake come from?
Me: Heavenly Father sent Blake to our family, Blake lived in my tummy until he grew big enough to come out.
Brooklyn: I know that mom, your tummy was so BIG! But, how did he get in your tummy??
Me: Uhh.... Well.... Heavenly Father just put Blake in my tummy.

That was the best answer I could give on the spot, I didn't think I would have to start preparing to answer questions like this! She looked at me very confused like, like it didn't make sense at all to her. She's not even 4 yet!! I am not ready to have this conversation with her, and she is way to young to be hearing about it. She's a very curious girl, she's always asking tons of questions. Right now she's going through a phase where she keeps measuring her height to see if she's grown taller. She asked me a while back when she could get married, I told her when she grew big and tall. She used to tell me she wanted to get married at 16, well tonight when she said her prayers, she said "Help to to turn 5 years old so I can get married". She's so anxious to grow up!! I hope she doesn't grow too fast, because I'm not looking forward to having "the talk" with her.
