Santa Fe

Last Saturday we went to Santa Fe for a 10K run I did with my friend Grethen. The run was hard!! Most of the run was up hill but the scenery and everything around me was really pretty. After the run we walked around town and ate at this little Mexican restaurant. I should have taken a picture of my burrito, it was REALLY good!! I loved this town, it was really cute and old fashioned. It was a fun day, usually Rich is at school on Saturdays so it was nice that he could break away from the books for a half of day.

This park was gorgeous!
The boys

This was taken at the beginning of the run, there was a guy from Kenya running the race. I let him win since he traveled so far to run it. I'm kidding. This guy was pretty impressive to watch for the 5 seconds I saw him, he was FAST! I like to hang out in the back with all the slower runners, then at the last mile of the race I book it and pass a few people so I'm not dead last.
This was a really pretty catholic cathedral that we went through...

Brooklyn's kindergarten graduation...

This is Brooklyn's last week of kindergarten. She's going to really miss going to school. She loves her teacher Mrs Duran. All she talks about is how nice and sweet her teacher is. She's done really well adjusting to a new school and making some friends. Today they had a little program and passed out certificates to all of the kids.

Weston came just for the refreshments.
I would ask Brooklyn everyday if she made any friends at school. And she would always say that Mia Rose was her favorite friend. I finally got to meet the famous Mia Rose!
Brooklyn has been working on this book for the past few weeks.

Sami at 8 weeks

Sami is 8 weeks old today, here are some pictures I took yesterday and today. I am having so much fun with this little girl. She's just like a little baby doll:) My house is mess and my laundry basket is overflowing, but that's ok because she's changing and growing way to fast! I don't want to miss any of this!!

Cheese and Europe

Last week I saw a advertisement for "laughing cow cheese", and I haven't stopped thinking about it since I saw it. I bought some a few days ago, and it is sooo good! It's a creamy Swiss cheese that is cut in wedges. I've been eating it for a snack all week, just one wedge a day though because I want it to last long. Anyways... when I eat this it has made me reminis about my summer in Europe in 2000. The food in Europe is so good, and what I remember most about the foods we ate while we were there was the rich creamy cheeses. If any of you know me, I LOVE food. I love everything about it! I hate to diet, maybe that's why I have to run so much because I hate giving up the foods I love. I got out my photo album of our Europe trip, and it was fun to see all the cool things we got to see and do. But what I noticed most about all the pictures we took is how many pictures I'm in where I am stuffing my face with food! I'm not going to post all the pictures of myself scarfing down food, but I did post a few. If your a cheese lover like me, you'll have to try these little creamy swiss cheese wedges. I promise you'll love them!

Mother's Day

Mother's day was great this year. I woke up to hearing my kids and Rich busily making breakfast while I laid in bed with Samantha. Rich brought me my breakfast and asked if I wanted to eat it in bed or downstairs with the kids. That was a easy a decision, how often do I really get to eat breakfast in bed?? So while I enjoyed my omelet, pancakes, fresh fruit and o.j I could hear Rich getting after the kids for fighting and trying to get them to eat their food. It was kinda fun to hear all the commotion from upstairs and not have to break up the fights and get my kids to eat their food. After breakfast the presents were brought up to me, Brooklyn colored about 6 different cards for me as well as a ceramic cupcake she made at school. Rich got me a pair of slippers and a cute pair of p.j's that will hopefully fit in the next month or two. After breakfast, Rich cleaned up the dishes and then I decided to get up and help get the kids ready for church. Rich and I were betting on what the ladies at church would receive for a mothers day gift, I guessed it would be a sweet treat and he thought I would get a rose. I won the bet, we all got chocolate. I would take chocolate over a flower any day. The primary sang a song for all the mother's, Brooklyn was too shy to go up and sing but Weston ran up there with enthusiasm and sang his heart out.
After the song he was walking back to where we were sitting and he started to wave to the congregation like he was a famous actor walking on the red carpet. It was pretty cute. After church Rich had to go up to school to study for a midterm he had on Monday. Me the kids got out some blankets and watched a movie and ate popcorn. This is the first time we have celebrated mother's day without any of our families now that we have moved. There was a part of me that missed the big dinner with all the family, but there was something really sweet and simple about just being with my kids and Rich. I love being a mother, I can't imagine doing anything else right now then being a mom to these 4 kids...
