Good luck Shaylyn!

Rich and I went back to our old Lehi ward today to hear Shaylyn give her farewell talk before she leaves on her mission to Ohio. I was Shaylyn's young women leader 6 years ago. The hardest part about leaving that ward was leaving the young women, we had a great group of girls and Shaylyn was one of my favorites. Before Rich and I even started to have kids, we always said if we had a daughter we hope she turns out like Shaylyn. She's just a great girl, she's smart, pretty, nice to everyone and she has a strong testimony of the gospel. Hearing her speak today strengthened my own testimony. It was just neat to see how she's grown up into this beautiful young women. She's going to make a awesome missionary.
Ohio is lucky to have her!

Summer Party at the Park...

We had a neighborhood whip cream fight at the park today, Brooklyn and Weston were so excited! Weston ate most of his whip cream that we brought, he didnt want to waste it on others. Brooklyn seemed excited about running around squirting the other kids until someone sprayed her and got whipped cream in her hair. It was a emotional roller coaster the rest of the day, she was crying and so sad that her hair got messed up! Above is a sad little picture of Brooklyn. Weston and Blake and fun on the slip in slide, Brooklyn was still sulking from her hair being messed up so she never got wet.

Weston eating of course..
Blake walked around eating peoples leftover food. Everytime I saw him he had stolen a bag of chips or cookies. It's like a treasure hunt for him, he walks around looking for half eaten food. I'm surprised he doesnt have food in his hands in the picture, he does have some cupcake frosting on his forehead though.

Brooklyn and Mom's running Day!

Brooklyn ran her first 1 mile kids run on Monday! She did so great! I'm glad she likes to run, maybe I'll have a running budding when she gets older.
Me and Rich took Brooklyn out for a few practice runs the week before the race, she took it very seriously. She even ran on my treadmill once, she has her own playlist on my ipod with her favorite tunes. She runs to The Little Mermaid music.
I love this picture of Brooklyn with her braids flying through the air.
Weston meeting me at the finish line to give me a hug.
Rich took this picture of me during the last couple miles of the race. It was a really pretty run, we ran on trail that was surrounded by farmland. I met this girl the last hour of the race. I can't remember her name, but we talked for a while. Talking to her distracted me from how bad my inner-thighs were hurting. I've worn this running skirt at home when I do small runs, it's never bothered me. But I've never worn it for 13 miles, big mistake!!! My inner-thighs were bleeding and completely raw during the last 5 miles. I was secretly hoping that a pushy runner would come knock me down and injure me so I could stop running, or maybe a dog or snake would jump out and and bite me! I was seriously thinking those things, so I would be forced to stop the race. Anyways... I did finally make it the finish line and my family was there waiting for me. That was the best part.

Brooklyn was so excited to get a medal!
On our way home... long morning for all of us. We woke up at 4:00 in the morning so we could be out of the house by 4:45.

Rich took a little video of Brookyn's race, he was pushing the boys in the jogger stroller.

Trip to Idaho...

Me and the kids went to Idaho last week to meet my new nephew and their new cousin. My mom flew into Salt Lake from California and we drove to Idaho together. My sister Kelly and my brother-in-law Josh named the baby Landon. I LOVE that name. There is nothing sweeter then a newborn baby!
Brooklyn with her new cousin...

I stayed at my other sisters house Holly during our visit. Brooklyn, Weston and Blake played LONG and HARD with their cousins while we were there.

We made a trip to the pet store with 9 kids!!
This picture would be complete if Emma and Landon were in it. My parents have 11 grandkids now! We'll have to get a good picture with all the kids in July when we go up for Landon's blessing. Congratulations Kelly and Josh!
