Happy Birthday Rich!

So I threw a surprise party for Rich on Saturday, since he's turned the BIG 30! Let me tell you how glued I was to the weather channel because it was suppose to be at our park. We had to move it to the church cultural hall because it was raining and cold. I really wanted this to be at the outside, less work for me and less set up and it would have been nice for the kids to have a playground to play at. Oh well everything still worked out good and Rich still got to visit with some good friends that he hasn't seen a while. I'm really not a party planner, I'm not very creative and good at centerpieces and making things look fancy and nice. The most I did for decorations for this party was a couple of balloons on the tables and a $2.99 cent banner. I had a hard time being sneaky and lying to Rich all week keeping this a secret. So stressful!! Rich said he was really surprised, I want to believe him but I'll guess I'll never know...

Ahh... what a cute little boy!
Here is Rich walking in while we all yelled "SURPRISE!" Brooklyn was probably confused she thought she was going to a primary daddy daughter date.

Blake tuckered out, taking a break on a balloon.
Some of Rich's family...
You'll notice a couple of tables with no tablecloths or balloons, I didn't even set up enough tables and chairs for everyone! Seriously, don't call me if you need help throwing a party! I should have had people RSVP, so I had a better idea of how many were coming.
Everyone brought appetizers, fingerfoods and salads. I love potlucks! We had lots of good food!
So here is the cake I slaved over, I handpainted a picture of Rich when he was a little boy. It only took 8 hours, but I thought it turned out nice. Hope you know I'm kidding, I did fill out the order form to have Albertsons make the cake. It was hard work, my hand got really tired from filling out the form.

Easter weekend...

Sunday morning before church...
All the kids in their Sunday clothes before church. Weston got this new little suit last month. I was at kid-to-kid looking for tap shoes for Brooklyn and saw this suit, brand new with the original tags still on it, I couldn't pass it up for $15.00. He looks very handsome in it.
When we got home from church the Easter bunny had visited our house. Weston found his basket downstairs in the basement.

Brooklyn found her basket in the dryer.
And Blake found his in the bathtub.
On Saturday we had our annual HOA Easter egg hunt at the park. Brooklyn still needs me to hold her hand while she picks up the eggs, she's not very aggressive when it comes to picking the eggs up quickly.
Blake didn't really know what to do... he did manage to grab a couple of eggs.
Weston had no problem picking up the eggs quickly, as soon as they yelled "GO", he was off!

Visit to the dentist...

I was really nervous about taking the kids to the dentist this morning, especially because I have to get a crown next month$$$. Brooklyn's last visit she had 4 mini root canals, and 4 crowns! And she had to be completely sedated. I could have bought the swingset that I've been wanting forever with the amount I spent on her mouth. At Weston's last visit, he had 2 crowns and 3 fillings. He also had to be sedated. So I was pleasantly surprised when both of them were cavity free! The dentist also talked to me about braces with Brooklyn! She has already lost her first tooth and the second tooth is almost out, so since she's losing teeth this early she'll start braces early. She could get braces when she's 9 or 10. Which I think is great, especially if her teeth are as crooked as mine were when I was little she will want those braces on ASAP.

McDonalds fieldtrip

All the girls eating their free icecream cones from McDonalds. They got the grand tour! If Brooklyn decides she wants fast food to be her first job, I will encourage her to follow after her mother's footsteps and work at Carls Junior. It would make me proud!

This is why my camera battery died so fast...

Weston taking pictures of himself in the bathroom mirror. This was his best picture out of the 15 he took. Little stinker.
