Sunday afternoon...

Me and the kids baked some sugar cookies last Sunday. I LOVE sugar cookies with cream cheese frosting! As soon as the weather turns cold, we bake a lot at our house. The kids love to help me in the kitchen. Brooklyn probably spent an hour decorating this one cookie. Weston wasn't able to help with frosting the cookies, because he got in trouble. I wont go into details about that. Whenever I bake something I usually give out half of it to a neighbor, because I know I'll eat it all. I don't have very good self control when it comes to sweets. So, we took some of these cookies to Weston's nursery leaders. I think Weston may have given his teachers a few grey hairs since he's been in there with him. So we felt they deserved it.

Date to the Dentist...

Me and Rich and dentist appointments this morning. I scheduled our appointments together before his first morning class. We dropped our kids off at my friends Cami's house and off we went to the dentist together. It was date! It was so nice to be together in the car just the two of us, no kids, no distractions and just talk. We made bets on who would have the most cavities, I lost that bet. I wasn't surprise, I have horrible teeth. I've been going to the same dentist since I moved to Provo in 98, I think it can be hard to find a doctor you can trust and doesn't take advantage of your checkbook. When you walk into my dentist office, someone always greets you instantly by your first name. I've never had to wait more then 5 minutes in the lobby before they call me back. Then my hygienist Shannon will clean my teeth, we will catch up on what's new in eachother's lives. Then Dr. Jones will come back and see me. Sometimes, I secretly hope I have 1 or 2 cavities because I love to go back to get the happy gas! Is it wrong that I like it so much?? After our visit with Dr. Jones, we meet with Linda the friendly billing lately. She then asks me how my kids are, she always remembers their names. She gives us a estimate of how much our bill will be after insurance is billed. Then she walks us out to the lobby, offers us a cold beverage and a snack, and walks us to the door. Your in and out in an hour. I love going to the dentist!! I hate paying the bill, but they treat their patients so nice.

On our way home, I seriously couldn't remember the last time me and Rich were alone together. With his work and school schedule I rarely see him. It was really nice to spend this morning with him. It made me realize that it doesn't matter what you do together as a couple, even if it is just a date to the dentist.

Today was a good day!

The first two things I do when I wake up in the morning is change Blake and Weston's diapers. I don't mind changing Blake's diapers. But Weston's diapers are starting to get gross. He'll be 3 in December. When I was changing Weston's diaper this morning, I decided I would try to motivate him to use the toilet today. I have days where I am energetic and enthused about teaching him to use the toilet, and other days when I don't have the patience for it. I had planned on running some errands today, but when Weston agreed to at least wear his Diego underwear I decided to stay home all day and focus on him using the toilet. It's a good sign when I can at least get him to wear underwear. He wet his first three pair of underwear by noon. I didn't give up! I quickly washed the underwear, and while the underwear were washing he walked around with no diaper on. He kept asking for a diaper, but I told him we were all out. I kept a close eye on him to make sure there were no accidents on the carpet. After the underwear were clean I let him go outside to play, and I noticed he had that look of concentration on his face. I asked him to come in and sit on the toilet and he agreed to. (Usually he doesn't do anything I tell him, he's very stubborn!) So I sat in the bathroom with him to support and encourage him, but he kept telling me to go out! I guess he wanted some privacy. So, I listened by the door until I heard him say: "I went poo poo mom!" Then two hours later, he went again!! He's had three successful visits to the toilet and 4 accidents! The picture above he fell asleep in the living room, he stayed dry during his nap! The video below you'll notice the bag of pretzels he snacks on while he's taking care of business. Today was a good day!

School girl!

Brooklyn had her first day of preschool today. Me and 5 other moms in our neighborhood are doing a little preschool together. Brooklyn has been talking about going to preschool everyday for the past week! She loves to do things with friends and to get out of the house. She was excited to pick out her Barbie backpack, she's been carrying it with her everywhere. Before we left I checked Brooklyn's bag to make sure her school supplies were still in there, I noticed she put a few extra things in her bag. This is what she packed: toothpaste, toothbrush, my lipgloss, nail clippers, the friend magazine and her doll. She's a funny girl. She came home today just beaming! It's neat to see her excited to learn. Brooklyn's got her cute outfit from my neighbor Lori, she's so nice to give me her daughters clothes when she outgrows them. She looks like a little school girl. I remember wearing bobby socks when I was little!

New nephew

My sister Holly had a baby last week. She named him Ethan. He's seriously the cutest little baby boy! Lots of dark hair and a cute round face. This is her 3rd boy. I picked my mom up from the airport in Salt Lake and we drove up to Idaho Falls to be there for the birth. It was a fun week to spend with my family. Brooklyn had a fun time with all her cousins. Ethan is my parents 10th grandchild.

Comore Loma subdivsion...

When I was in Idaho to see my new nephew, I drove up to our lot to see if there were any new homes or changes in the area. Rich asked me to take pictures since he couldn't come with me. I ran up to our subdivision one morning, it's about 5 miles from one of my sisters homes. It's neat to just look at our lot and imagine how our home will sit, where we will put the horses and the yard. Right now building this home seems so far off, because we are just trying to focus on getting through school. But it's nice to daydream every once in while and get excited about how our life will be here.
Our street has a road! Shiny new black pavement!

This home wasn't there before, maybe we'll be good friends with this family?
Our street sign is up: High Willow Lane!

This is a new home that's near our lot.
