So I threw a surprise party for Rich on Saturday, since he's turned the BIG 30! Let me tell you how glued I was to the weather channel because it was suppose to be at our park. We had to move it to the church cultural hall because it was raining and cold. I really wanted this to be at the outside, less work for me and less set up and it would have been nice for the kids to have a playground to play at. Oh well everything still worked out good and Rich still got to visit with some good friends that he hasn't seen a while. I'm really not a party planner, I'm not very creative and good at centerpieces and making things look fancy and nice. The most I did for decorations for this party was a couple of balloons on the tables and a $2.99 cent banner. I had a hard time being sneaky and lying to Rich all week keeping this a secret. So stressful!! Rich said he was really surprised, I want to believe him but I'll guess I'll never know...
Here is Rich walking in while we all yelled "SURPRISE!" Brooklyn was probably confused she thought she was going to a primary daddy daughter date.
You'll notice a couple of tables with no tablecloths or balloons, I didn't even set up enough tables and chairs for everyone! Seriously, don't call me if you need help throwing a party! I should have had people RSVP, so I had a better idea of how many were coming.
So here is the cake I slaved over, I handpainted a picture of Rich when he was a little boy. It only took 8 hours, but I thought it turned out nice. Hope you know I'm kidding, I did fill out the order form to have Albertsons make the cake. It was hard work, my hand got really tired from filling out the form.
